Maison de la Radio

The vocation of Radio France has always been to share a love of music. The Music Department at Radio France carries out two main functions: promoting musical repertoires and feeding the various radio stations of Radio France (in particular France Musiques). 368 professional musicians and 85 people in charge of broadcasting and management ensure that 200 concerts and 70 new works are played each season. Like all major European radio stations, Radio France ensures part of the musical production for its radio channels through public concerts. These are part of the musical life of the country.

Cité de la Musique

A venue truly devoted to music, Cité de la Musique, situated in the south of the Parc de la Villette near the Conservatoire de Paris, was designed by the architect Christian de Portzamparc. It provides access to musical culture through its concerts, museum and educational and editorial activities for adults and children.

The museum, with a permanent collection of over 1,000 instruments and artworks, as well as 2 temporary exhibitions each year, promotes a heritage dating from the 17th century to the present day through music from around the world. Audio guides and headphones for children and adults are available and every day a different musician plays a mini-concert in the museum.
